In an epic battle, the Autobot known as Smokescreen fought valiantly and offered the ultimate sacrifice; his metal body was incinerated in a hail of explosions. Red Alert rescued his spark of life and placed him into a new body, a rugged Backhoe, and thus Hoist was born. Hoist is a burly, hard-working construction worker who places dedication above all else. He is the epitome of the perfect soldier: big, strong, and fearless who prefers combat straight up the middle.
